DJ Akademiks Warns Young Thug About His Next Album

Young Thug has certainly made a big impact since his release from prison late last month. He spent more than two years behind bars due to RICO charges and eventually took a plea deal after a long and messy trial. Since getting out, he has jumped right back into making music. Just this week, he was seen in the studio with fellow artists like Travis Scott, Future, and Lil Baby. However, DJ Akademiks has suggested that Young Thug should be careful about who he teams up with. During a live stream, Akademiks stressed the importance of Thug's next album being successful. He remarked that if Thug's first album after his release doesn't surpass Gunna's most recent work, it could hurt his standing in the industry. He mentioned that being locked up might have affected Thug's view of the current music scene. Akademiks pointed out that if Thug expected to create something great in the studio, he might need to reconsider working with certain people. He stressed that fans care more about the quality of music than any rumors of conflict, meaning they are likely to keep supporting Gunna despite any issues between him and Thug.

These comments came shortly after Young Thug seemed to call out Gunna on social media, saying they are not friends. Akademiks reacted by saying he sensed there was tension and speculated that Thug only sought permission from the judge to contact Gunna for business matters.
