Doja Cat is making headlines again. The singer and rapper has been enjoying the success of her last album, Scarlet, but she is now ready to share something fresh with her fans. On November 11, she took to social media to share a list of song titles that don’t seem to relate to each other. This left some fans puzzled, as none of the titles matched her earlier releases. Eventually, fans realized that Doja was hinting at her upcoming album. Pop Crave captured a screenshot of the titles shared on Doja Cat's Instagram Story, which included 13 names—definitely enough for an album. Some of these titles are: "Crack," "Break My Heart," "Cards," "Acts of Service," "Turn the Lights," and "Make It Up." The rest are "Take Me Dancing," "Ain't News," "Anything," "Appreciation," "Wood Hally," "Slow Burn," and "Did I Lie." Doja Cat didn’t explain these songs, but she did drop a big hint two weeks earlier by tweeting just one word: "Album." It’s clear that she is preparing for a new release.
Her approach for this album rollout is different from what she did for Scarlet. Doja mentioned that while making Scarlet, she was in an "angry place," and wanted the music to speak for itself, leading her to do minimal promotion. She shared in a rare interview that it was a moment of standing up for herself, emphasizing that she creates for her own sake, not just for others.
Fans were disappointed when Scarlet did not receive any major nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards, despite Doja's past success with the organization. However, on November 9, she received some exciting news. Doja Cat surpassed Cardi B and Nicki Minaj to become the most platinum-certified female rapper in Billboard history, with 13 platinum releases, the latest being "Rules."
