Chance The Rapper has announced the release date for his highly anticipated fifth solo project.

On Wednesday, July 30, Chano revealed the plans for his upcoming album Star Line. He posted the album's official cover art, painted by Brandon Breaux, who created artwork for Chance's past projects 10 Day, Acid Rap, and Coloring Book. He also surprised fans who bought his exclusive Star Line merch by revealing a special code within the t-shirt that unlocks an unreleased song from the album.

“Thank you to my fans so much for following me and supporting me through this whole journey,” Chance said.

“These last six years have been crazy and amazing…This album has really changed my life and I look forward to sharing and communing with y’all," he added.

Chance's sophomore studio album has been in the works for quite some time. He began sharing singles from the LP back in 2022 including "Child of God," "Wraith" featuring Vic Mensa & Smoko Ono, "The Highs & The Lows" with Joey Bada$$, "Bar About A Bar," and more. After working on NBC's "The Voice" in 2023, Chance returned in 2024 to share more music from the project. He hosted an event called "Writings On The Wall," where he allowed an intimate group of fans to experience the album before it drops.

"It's basically a listening party for my album," Chance told 103.5 The Beat's Papa Keith. "It's unreleased music. All new songs but as you can see there's an audio/visual element to it. It's an immersive listening experience."

During the sessions, Chance said he wanted to release the album this spring. Instead, he dropped the latest single from the project, "Tree" featuring Lil Wayne and Smino. Look out for Star Line available everywhere on August 15, and watch the music video for "Tree" below.
