Kendrick Lamar surprised the world with a "combative" new track, shared to Instagram on Wednesday (September 11), that fans believe hints at his never-ending beef with Drake.

According to HipHopDx, the artists have been "engaged in lyrical warfare" for quite some time now, spurring 2024 tracks like Drake's "Taylor Made Freestyle" and Kendrick's "Not Like Us" which was nominated for Song of the Summer and Song of the Year as part of this year's VMAs.

The "Money Trees" hitmaker shared a snippet of the song to his rarely-used Instagram account, along with a pair of black NikeAirs. The post was caption-less and spoke for itself as fans were serenaded with "tough love" that "sometimes gotta result in violence."

Kendrick sings:

"Why reason with these n***** if they can’t see the future first?/ Why argue with these clowns if the circus is well at work?/ Just walk that man down, that’ll do everyone a solid/ It’s love, but tough love sometimes gotta result in violence."

He continues, highlighting the desire for an unnamed individual's head to be "cracked before he’s back home."

"Dirty macking b****** because your spirit is insecure/ The flashy n**** with nasty decisions, using money as a backbone/ I want his head cracked before he’s back home."

Followers sounded off in the comment section of the post, commending the standout for his lyrical genius stating, "This man operates at a different level," and "Lyricism is alive and well."

Information regarding who Kendrick is referring to when he sings the above lyrics (and the title of the forthcoming single) has yet to be revealed, but listeners speculate that it might be a continuance of the icon's notorious beef with Drake that started in 2013, per Billboard.
