JAY-Z has finally weighed in on the infamous question fans have been debating for years.
On Monday, October 23, CBS Mornings debuted a clip from Gayle King's upcoming interview with Hov. During their conversation inside the recreated Baseline Studios at the Book of Hov exhibit, King asked the veteran rapper about a years-long debate among fans that had them choosing between taking $500,000 in cash or sharing a meal with him. Hov formally settled the debate by instructing fans to take the money.
"You gotta take the money," JAY-Z said with a grin. "What I'mma say?"
"You got all that in the music for $10.99," he continued. After Gayle suggested that fans would take the meal with him, he replied, "That's a bad deal. I wouldn't tell you to cut a bad deal. Take the $500,000 go buy some albums and listen to the albums. It's all there. If you piece it together and listen to the music for the words, for what it is, it's all there. Everything that I said that was going to happen, happened. Everything I said wanted to do, I've done and there's the blueprint. The blueprint literally to me and my life and my journey, is there already."
The interview comes after Hov appeared to acknowledge the debate in a now-viral video. A fan had approached the Roc Nation founder and told him that he would take the $500,000 instead of going to dinner with him. Hov responded by dapping him up.
CBS' full interview with JAY-Z will air later this week on Thursday and Friday.
