Baseball…Earlier this week, the New York Mets broadcast team announced a virtual game between the Mets and the Houston Astros. Even though there wasn’t an actual game going on, they were able toweave in a joke about the Astros cheating. Even during all this coronavirus stuff, the Astros are still getting hammered.
Football…The NFL is still on its way to holding the draft the weekend of April 23rd – with everyone staying home and making their picks remotely. In the meantime, all 32 teams willparticipate in a mock draft to test the technologyneeded to pull this off.
But don’t worry ... there’s also a safety net. The NFL says it will change the rules on the flyif there are technical glitches and make sure each team has a fair chance to make the move they want.
Basketball…People are still talking about NBA superstarKevin Garnett, who wants nothing to do with his former team – the Minnesota Timberwolves –retiring his number. He has gone on the record, explaining that he “won't forgive” the team’s owner for a beef they had back in 2015, going so far as to explain that he doesn’t “do business with snakes” or “people who are snake-like.”
