Now that the nominations for the 2023 Grammy awards are out, rap fans and artists alike are fuming over who *didn't* get a nod.

Following the Recording Academy's presentation of the nominees on Tuesday, November 15, people flocked to social media to express their frustrations after they realize multiple artists were snubbed. One artist that was noticeably absent from the list of nominees was Nicki Minaj. After her team submitted "Super Freaky Girl" for the rap category, it was reported that the song would only be considered for the pop category. Unfortunately, it seems like her song wasn't selected at all.

The rapper had just had a public debate about her song "Super Freaky Girl" and dragged Latto into the discourse after she felt that "Big Energy" should be considered for pop as well. Latto, who was just nominated for the first time, was disturbed by the mention and accused Minaj of bullying her. Minaj pressed on by referring to Latto as "scratch off" and accusing her of using ghostwriters. The drama concluded after they exchanged a few more shady tweets, but the tension may still linger.

In addition to Nicki's snub, fans and artists also voiced their opinions about who deserved to be nominated for Best Rap Album. This year's nominees include DJ Khaled (God Did), Future (I Never Liked You), Jack Harlow (Come Home The Kids Miss You), Kendrick Lamar, (Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers) and Pusha T (It's Almost Dry). While Khaled, Jack, Future and Kendrick also received nods for other awards, there wasn't a lot of variety outside of the top-tier acts. Artists like Denzel Curry, who dropped his own album MELT MY EYEZ SEE YOUR FUTURE earlier this year, acknowledged first-time nominees like GloRilla but also pointed out all the other rappers who dropped albums this year that should've been considered as well.

"Glo Rilla Deserves it," he began, "But For The Rap Album Category I can literally Name you 10 other albums that were actually good congrats to kdot and push but all that other s**t come on bruh… My Album literally tied with one of the albums that was nominated for a Grammy and I still got robbed. All my homies that came out with Top Notch solid albums this Year Got Robbed."

There were other major rappers who didn't appear on this year's list of nominees like Megan Thee Stallion, Kanye West, Blxst, Alicia Keys and more. Fans also had complaints about the exclusion of other artists like Smino, Earl Sweatshirt, Kenny Beats, Key Glock, Saba and Summer Walker, who did not receive any nominations either.

The debate will most likely continue until the awards show goes down next year. The Grammys are happening on February 5, 2023 and premiere on CBS at 8 p.m. EST.
