Fans of Shonda Rhimes’ hit series Bridgerton will be relieved in knowing Lady Whistledown is back to spilling the tea on high society.

The show’s showrunner, Chris Van Dusen confirmed exclusively to Variety that production on season two has resumed after two confirmed COVID-19 cases shut things down.

“We are back under way,” Van Dusen said. “We had to delay because of COVID, but we are back in it.” The showrunner, who is currently traveling between Los Angeles and the London-based set, also revealed that the first few episodes are already finished.

“Right now I’m in post, editing our first couple of episodes, which are looking great,” Van Dusen said.

The show first came to Netflix in December 2020 and had audiences everywhere captivated by the plot’s posh messiness.

The show shut down production for its second season indefinitely last month after the two confirmed COVID-19 cases. The show didn't confirm if the cases were among cast or crew, only that the two individuals were in isolation. It was just one of several projects shooting in the UK to get put on pause because of the coronavirus in the last several weeks.

Season two will cover the eldest son of the Bridgerton family, Anthony and his journey to find a partner.

“We pick up Anthony after we’ve seen what he’s been through with his mistress. He’s thinking, ‘Was that love?’ Some would call it that, others would not. We’re exploring those concepts of duty and honor once again,” Van Dusen shared.

A spinoff show based on Queen Charlotte's life is also reportedly in the works.
