Cardi B will be at the 2018 Video Music Awards, but she will NOT be performing.

After MTV revealed that the "Bodak Yellow" rapper was opening Monday's (August 20) show, rumors quickly spread that she would also be performing, making it her first performance since welcoming her daughter Kulture last month. However, Cardi set the record straight on Instagram, writing, "I'm just opening, I'm not performing."

Sources connected to the award show's production told TMZ that while Cardi won't be "rockin' the mic for MTV" she will "either do a monologue or partake in some sort of skit instead."

Cardi and her husband Offset welcomed Kulture on July 10. While Cardi originally planned to make a quick comeback after having her baby girl — she was scheduled to hit the road in September for Bruno Mars' "24K Magic World Tour" — the "Be Careful" rapper had to pull out of the last leg Bruno's tour in order to give her body time to heal.

“As of today, I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this Fall,” Cardi wrote on Instagram last month. “I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically.”

“I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing,” she added. “Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road. I hope you guys understand that this decision has been the hardest to make but I have to do what’s best for myself and my baby!"
